Rodents come from far away.  Long legs stretch.  Big ears point.  Busy paws dig, dig, dig!

Make room, sand cats.  Watch out, gazelles.  Maras are here to stay.

Pray: God gave maras instincts to dig holes, even in a new land.  Thank God for giving animals wisdom to build homes.

Patagonian maras look kind of like rabbits. They keep showing up in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. They were first spotted in 2020. Where do they belong? Argentina! That is far, far away. These creatures may be escaped pets. They live among sand dunes. Some built a warren. (That is an underground home. It is made of tunnels.) How many live there? There may be 200. Summer gets very hot. The maras still survive. Their numbers even grow.

“Foxes have holes, and birds of the air have nests.” (Matthew 8:20)
