These 5 forms of life surprise people.

One has fruit that grows under the soil.  Three live in a very cold place.  One is a rare white flower.  A bird with a blue beak shares its home.

Pray: Thank God for all that He makes. He takes pleasure in making things grow. He makes us grow too.

Scientists with England’s Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew, discovered forms of life last year. One is a palm on the island of Borneo. It makes sweet fruit underground. Locals love it! Lichen are not truly plants. They are algae or bacteria living with fungi. Scientists found three new lichen on bare rock in Antarctica. A tiny reserve in Madagascar has a rare white orchid. It grows on top of other plants. The orchid grows where the endangered helmet vanga bird lives.

Let the Earth sprout vegetation, plants yielding seed.” (Genesis 1:11)
