She read the Bible to her parents. She later became a teacher for black students. Mrs. Bethune started a school in Florida. It is now Bethune-Cookman University. She helped students find jobs. She said faith is the “first factor” in a life of service. Hebrews 12:2 teaches us that Jesus gives us our faith. He makes our faith perfect.
