There was a baby dolphin. Her tail was crushed in a crab trap. People named her Winter.

Winter got a man-made tail. She learned to swim again. She was in movies.

Then Winter got sick and died. Many people were sad.

Pray: Thank God for all the ways people learn to help one another and the creatures that live on Earth.

Read More: Winter lived at the Clearwater Marine Aquarium in Florida. She starred in the movie Dolphin Tale. She had problems with her intestines when she got older. Doctors could not cure her. She died at age 16. Dolphins do not breathe the way we do. Half of a dolphin’s brain must always be ready to tell the lungs when  to breathe! Dolphins and porpoises are different from one another. But they look much alike. One translation of Exodus 36:19 says about the Tabernacle, “[Moses] made a covering for the tent of rams’ skins dyed red, and a covering of porpoise skins above.” (NASB)
