Look at all the alebrijes (ah-lay-BREE-hays)!  That lizard is cardboard.  It is taller than you.  It walks 3 dogs.  It even holds a cake.

This art mixes up things.  Glob on bright paint.  Anything goes!

Pray: Thank God for your good imagination. God is the Creator. He made you creative too.

This lizard artwork is an example of “alebrijes.” People make alebrijes from paper or cardboard. Wire holds them up. The art form started with an artist from Mexico City, Mexico. He got the idea from strange dreams. Alebrijes may have features of different animals mixed together. What odd creature would you build? Israel Mondragón made the lizard. His finished product stands over six feet tall! In English, its name means “Mr. Mischief.”

“So God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him.” (Genesis 1:27)
