Most people here do not have cars.  They run instead!

Some racers put on sneakers.  More wear sandals.  Women wear colorful skirts.  They jog for hours.

Pray: Thank God for the things our bodies can do.

The Tarahumara (tar-uh-hoo-MAR-uh) people live in northern Mexico. There are not many cars or paved roads there. People run instead. Maribel Estrada runs everywhere. She meets her children after school. She goes to church. She visits her mother in another town. She always wears rubber sandals with white laces. Sometimes her husband, Miguel, runs for 12 or more hours without stopping. He wins many races. Their kids meet him near the finish line. They like to run too.

“How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him who brings good news.” (Isaiah 52:7)
