A robot looked for gas deep in the sea.  It found many old jugs.  A ship was under them!

The ship is far from shore.  That means people then sailed way out to sea.

Pray: Thank God for new finds that help us learn about history.

People thought trading ships long ago stayed close to shore. Then they found a big wooden boat in ship shape. It is 3,300 years old. It is in the Mediterranean Sea 55 miles off Israel’s coast. That means ancient sailors knew how to journey far from land. Energean is a natural gas company. Its robot explores the sea. It found the ship under hundreds of jugs. The jugs likely held oil, wine, or fruit. They belonged to the Canaanites.

“Some went down to the sea in ships, doing business on the great waters.” (Psalm 107:23)
