What is that piece of wood?  Divers found a ship.  It sank long ago.

The ship held jars of food.  People liked to trade dates, figs, and olives.

Pray: Thank God for the joy of finding treasures in the sea. Shipwrecks teach us much about people from long ago.

Read More: A ship wrecked off the shore of Israel. The shipwreck happened about 600 to 700 years after Jesus lived. Divers used vacuums. They pumped out five feet of sand to uncover this find. The ship is 82 feet long and 16 feet wide. Its cargo is from places all around the Mediterranean Sea. That’s big news. Islam’s troops were taking over the Holy Land at that time. People thought foreign trade almost stopped. Now we know people kept on swapping goods. King Solomon did a lot of trading to get things like horses and chariots. Read 1 Kings 10:26-29.
