Mmm.  The first president liked cherries.  Servants stored them in bottles.  He could eat them later.

He never ate all of them.  People found some of his cherries.  The bottles kept them all this time!

Pray: Thank God for all the sweet fruits He made.

Once there were some cherries that were ripe for picking. George Washington’s slaves gathered them. They put them in bottles. They also may have picked gooseberries or currants. The servants put the fruit in the cellar at Mount Vernon. That was more than 250 years ago! People are cleaning up around Mount Vernon. They found the bottles. Scientists will test more than 50 cherry pits. Could any be planted? They hope so!

“By this my Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit and so prove to be my disciples.” (John 15:8)
