New science shows ticks use some slick tricks to travel. Ticks cannot jump or fly. They use static electricity to move through air. Humans and animals pick up static every day. Those charges give ticks a boost. Ticks latch onto people and pets. They drink some blood. The boost looks little to a human. But it is giant for a tick. It is like jumping three or four flights of stairs at once!
