Dig.  Dig.  Clank!  People found a very old sword.  It is made of bronze.  Bronze has copper in it.  It can turn green when it gets old and wet.

What a great find!

Pray: Thank God for what old treasures can teach us. The Bible teaches God’s kingdom is the greatest treasure of all.

Archaeologists in Nördlingen, Germany, found a 3,000-year-old sword in June. It looks brand new. The sword “almost still shines.” It was found at a burial site for people who lived long ago. Other bronze objects were there too. Few blacksmiths had the skill to make a bronze hilt in the shape of an octagon. Professor Mathias Pfeil heads the office that preserves historical monuments. He says, “A find like this is very rare.”

“The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field.” (Matthew 13:44)
