People built islands long ago.  They are on a lake.  The soil is good for plants.  Farmers grow food.

Now some fields are for soccer.  Owners earn more money.  Others want to save the gardens.

Pray: Thank God for smart ways to grow food.  Ask God to help owners use their land wisely.

A people called the Aztecs lived in what is now Mexico City, Mexico. They heaped dirt on top of reeds in a lake. They planted willow trees around the dirt. That was hundreds of years ago. Farmers still grow crops on the islands. Canals water the plants. Now some owners use the land for tourist events or soccer fields. They make more money. Others want to keep the gardens. Many kinds of birds and fish thrive there. The canals cool the city.

Isaiah wrote that people who follow God are like a watered garden. (Isaiah 58:11)
