Rumble, rumble.   Look at the sea.  Gray clouds of ash fly up.  Hot lava spouts.  White smoke rises.  A volcano makes an island.

Will the island stay?  People must wait and see!

Pray: Thank God for the beauty and power of volcanos.

A volcano under the sea erupted near Japan in October. It spouted ash and lava that cooled. Land formed. That is how God made the islands of Hawaii. The new island was 328 feet wide by November. It rose about 66 feet above the sea. The volcano is quieter now. The new island has a crumbly base. It could be washed away by waves. What if the volcano comes alive again? The island could get bigger and higher.

“Bow your heavens, O Lord, and come down. Touch the mountains so that they smoke!” (Psalm 144:5)
