Boats bring people to a new place.  The boats get old.  They fall apart.

People in jail want to work.  They take broken boat wood.   Saw.   Hammer.   They make instruments.

They make wood sing!

Pray: Thank God people can make beauty from broken things.

Milan’s musicians in the Orchestra of the Sea play violins, violas, and cellos. Inmates in Italy’s largest prison made their colorful instruments. The inmates pull apart old boats that were used by smugglers to bring migrants. Each instrument takes 400 hours to make. Inmate Nikolae hopes to be like the violins he builds. He wants what is broken to be healed. Mario Brunello plays one of the cellos. He says, “These instruments, which have crossed the sea, have a sweetness that you could not imagine.”

“Praise Him with strings and pipe.” (Psalm 150:4)
